A class on the Book of Genesis, Wednesdays at 10:30 am. We go a bit deeper into the passages from each Sunday, looking at portions we aren't able to consider in worship. 

Light refreshments are offered as we begin the class time of reading and discussion, and a time for fellowship will conclude each session. Room 14 is reached by entering the church at the office (on 2nd Ave) and turning down the hall to the right. 

Each Friday, UPC volunteers serve the daily meal at Our Dailly Bread. One greets and counts guests, three to four fill trays with food, one hands out trays, and one serves drinks. 

Volunteers may serve regularly or occasionally, or be substitutes for when someone can't make it. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up in the Narthex or contact Dorothy Simes.

The Present Word is a quarterly resource for adult Bible study that dives deep into God’s Word. It is designed by an ecumenical collaborative so that participants in multiple denominations study the same passages at the same time. The goal of The Present Word is to engage in study of Scripture to discover its deeper meaning for our world today. 

You are invited to participate at any time for as many sessions as you wish.

Book Club meets on second Mondays of the month, 1:00-2:00 pm, both in-person in the library and on Zoom. Members, visitors, family, and friends are welcome to join any session. Find the book selected for the month in the current book list.

A free parent-child learn and play class taught by the experienced staff of Parenting Matters that encourages bonding while developing early learning and literacy skills in children. The class focuses on creative activities for children 0–5 that enhance brain development and build preschoolers’ social skills, language skills, motor skills, and more. 

If you like this pop-up class, you can join other classes during the summer at multiple locations. Room 17 is reached by entering the church at the office on 2nd Ave and turning down the hall to the right.

In summer, we all scream for ice cream! Gather after worship to celebrate National Ice Cream Day with an old-fashioned ice cream social. Join together in Fellowship Hall where ice cream and a variety of toppings will be available for a suggested donation of $5 to benefit The Food Bank of Manatee. Sugar free, dairy free, and to-go containers available. Don’t miss out on this opportunity for fellowship and fun and to raise money for hunger relief in our local community.

We are supporting 6 students from Palma Sola Elementary School to participate in Day4Hope on July 25th at Kirkwood Presbyterian School from 9AM-2PM. Several of our members are volunteering to support those students and others by helping distribute many valuable supplies so that the eligible students start school ready, just like their peers.

This summer’s worship schedule includes three worship services held in the Fellowship Hall on June 28, July 26, and August 30. On these days we will gather for song, prayer and scripture, with a message that invites response and conversation. After the service, stay and enjoy food, friendly conversation, and time to connect with one another.


 

This summer's Fellowship Hours are on the last Sundays of June, July, and August, when the worship service is held in the Fellowship Hall. These Sundays are wonderful opportunities to grow closer together, meet new friends, and enjoy worship, laughter, food, and community all in one place.

Celebrate the mid-point of summer with our annual Beach Picnic and Stroll at Manatee Public Beach on Wednesday, July 29th at 5:30 pm. Gather on the south side at the tables under the trees for chicken, watermelon, chips, and fun. After dinner we will walk the beach and watch the sunset. The event is free, just bring your own beverage and a chair if you want. Friends and family are welcome! Sign up in the Narthex or call the church office so we know how many to plan for.
